Winter Creek in Whistler

Hard to get the contrast and tone right; hope I’m close. This is a challenging negative.

Same Chairs, Different Season

There are a number of these sets of chairs at the Toronto Beaches, and I have featured them a couple of times in the past. This is how they caught my eye in the winter.

Winter Dock

On Saturday I took my Mamiya RZ67 down to the Beaches. It was a very still, very grey day, and sometimes it was hard to see where the water ended and the sky began.

The Stark Sun

This post is a series of images taken in Toronto a couple of weeks back in the mid-late afternoon. I love the sun when it is at a low angle; it imposes a sense of drama on downtown buildings. All images taken with my Rolleiflex 3.5E3 on Ilford HP5+ film, developed in LegacyPro MicX developer.

The World of a Child

As I have said before, I don’t often get to create portraits of children, but this past weekend I had the chance to do so with the daughter of a friend in Calgary. My eight year old subject was engaging and enthusiastic, allowing me into her world, and certainly had an interest in the old camera I was using.

Different Light

The last time I had the chance to shoot the Peace Bridge in Calgary it was a grey, drizzly day. Last Sunday morning I lucked out and the low-angled late fall sun made for some great lighting.
